Bank of Kigali's mission is to be the leader in creating value for its stakeholders by providing the best financial Services to business and individual customers, through motivated and professional staff. 
As a network system and telecommunication administrator; I have to make sure that all the bank's financial services are delivered accurately, reliably and quickly (on time). This can be reached with a reliable, secured and highly available network (data and voice). Bank of Kigali is growing every day; it has a big number of customers, a big number of computer users to serve the customer and different products (most of the products are electronic). As bank of Kigali network administrator, I have to make sure that customers are well and quickly served. All the products must be ready and I have to be ready for the Bank growth nationally and internationally as the bank prepares to open branches in all the countries in East Africa.
Our Big interest is a satisfied customer.

Bank of Kigali has a large IT infrastructure all over the country. Most of the network equipment is from CISCO and very few from ALCATEL, HUAWEI and ZTE.
The bank application runs on IBM Production servers with AIX as OS. The bank has different servers to provide different services to customers and users. some run on AIX and LINUX like proxy server, file server, mail server, sms-banking server, e-document server, cacti server. and so many  other servers in service run on WINDOWS like DNS, DHCP and etc servers.
the bank connects to different IPS (3 ISP) in the country to connect to internet and to interconnect the bank branches. VPNs are configured to transfer secured data through internet. the bank intends to implement its VSAT to act for the ISP backup.

by the year 2011 we shall implement a new network infrastructure; that is more reliable, highly available and secured network. I must work hard to implement a network that complies with the bank Mission and Vision.

As Network System and Telecommunication administrator, i have four persons under my responsibility. I must give them work to do and show them a good way to do it.
I am working in IT department where we have a big team. 
I shall share knowledge with my colleagues, and improve the Bank reputation through accurate and quick services.
